Truly Lovely

Truly Lovely has started a link up of One Year Twenty Wishes.  Twenty wishes to cross off the list for 2013.  I have to come up with things that I want to do, not need to do for anyone else but me.  Awesome!

Steph's One Year Twenty Wishes:

1. To read Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber!

2. Celebrate Steve & I's one year wedding anniversary by going on a vacation cause supposedly that's what people normally do, right?

3. Deliver a second baby.  Preferably a boy so the Husband can be happy!

4. Go on a ski trip.

5. Run (jog) in a half marathon.  It's pushing my running abilities but if I do proper training, I could pull it off.

6. Attend a blogger conference.

7. Re-vamp my blog design.

8. Start selling add space.

9. Open up my Spanish program... and get for real about learning some damn Spanish!

10. Go on a nice Summer vacation to Myrtle Beach, again!

11. Get my body stronger.

12. Actually making some of the crafts/food recipes that I find on Pinterest.

13. Attend a concert.

14. Take a jewelry making class.

15. Go on a hiking trip.

16. Start reading the Harry Potter series.

17. Go see one movie a month.

18. Find a way to get away from my current job.

19. Learn how to bake goodies.  Any kind!  I'm new to it :)

20. Visit GA to see one of my favorite Aunt's.

2013 here I come!
I see it being a good year.  It also marks ten years since I graduated high school.
Crazyness!

Helene in Between

I traveled forty five minutes to my old voting location this morning (because I'm too forgetful to update my Voter Registration.)  Waiting in line for almost an hour just to be told that I needed to go to my new location... right down the street from my house.
I swear there's so many *new* voters.  Four years ago, it was nothing like this.
I was quite bitter especially when the location close to my house was wrapped around the school at 2:30 this afternoon.  Took another hour, but I did it. This morning I wasn't really up for voting just because I've felt in the past that my vote doesn't matter.  But it does and I felt good for doing it!

The babe is almost in bed and I will be going downstairs... popping open a bottle of wine and will be hooting and hollering with the boys until we find out who our President will be.
God help us all.  I've never been more hopeful about my vote!

A year ago today, I started blogging.
A year ago today I thought, "well hell... here goes nothin'."

It's been a fun journey so far.
I by no means classify myself as a writer, my vocabulary is very limited... I'm not the brightest person.  Thank God I have family and friends that take care of that for me.
I remember how overwhelming it was to start up my blog.  It took me awhile to find a name... I started on Wordpress but then realized that Blogger was for me.  Much easier for me to learn about codes and such.
I wish I had started one sooner!

I started this blog because I wanted to share my upcoming wedding that was in March of this year.
I wanted to blog about mommy life.
I wanted a hobby and have met some pretty amazing people in the process.

Honestly, I thought it wouldn't last long (just like other things I've attempted in life.)  But I've already made it through a year and I'm so pumped what this next year will bring.

My goals to complete before the next Blogoversary:
- Makeover this baby.
- Go to a conference or at least sign up for a future one.
-Manage my time better between blog working and my real life.
-Find more time to network and catch up with my followers that way maybe I can gain new ones as well.

CHEERS to those that have followed me throughout my first year.
I thank you immensely!
Thank you to the bloggers out there that hold Blog Hops every week.  For if it weren't for you, I might have given up already.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments, compliments and support.

Sandy... Is a Big Bitch.

While I've been at work all weekend, the Hubs has had time to prep for Hurricane Sandy.
Water? Check.
Milk?  Check.
Mega flashlights?  Check.
Mini heater? Check.
Generator?  Check.

I wish I knew if all this wondering and worrying is worth it or not.
The call from our car insurance company was a real eye opener.
It's nuts how many people have called our business line asking to rent our generators.
Now, we just wait in the safety of our home.

Please Sandy, don't be too rough on us!

Until then, some funnies I wanted to share...

Prayers for my family, friends and bloggy friends on the East Coast.
Be safe everyone!
